As a certified translator, I ensure that all requirements for high-quality work are met. I am committed to upholding the profession’s best practices, which include:
- translating exclusively into my native language;
- conducting thorough research to fully understand and accurately convey the content of each document;
- continually enhancing my skills through ongoing training;
- declining unrealistic deadlines to maintain quality;
- ensuring complete confidentiality of all information provided.
My hourly rate is 54.50€.
This figure is computed based on the net monthly pay I need to live on, plus the amount needed to cover social security contributions, taxes, and business expenses, all divided by the number of hours worked per month.
Hourly rates, rather than word rates, allow me to charge depending on the amount of time spent on extremely specific content that involves several hours of labor but does not always include a big word count (playing card titles, songs, slogans, poems, puns, technical terms, etc.).
Although word rates are the most popular form of charging on the market, they are also most complex and unfair to translators, especially when the services required are specific. It does not account for the project's complexity and scope.
Should you prefer to estimate your translation costs on a word rate basis, the following formula will allow me to apply a translation rate that still considers the amount of work needed:
Word rate = (number of working hours × base hourly rate) / number of words to be translated
These prices cover document management, project management, quality assurance, operating costs, workplace ergonomics, social security contributions, professional development, and the end product.
These may differ depending on the technical difficulty of the translation, the tight deadline, and the specific nature of your project (non-editable format, special formatting for subtitles, or subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing). Requesting a free quote will provide specifics on all these components, if needed. Work that must be carried out on weekends or public holidays will incur a 50% surcharge. The agreed-upon deadline will be set on the quotation and will be respected except in cases of emergency (which will be specified on the quotation if necessary).
The term “signs“ in the “Correction“ tab refers to any character (letter, punctuation mark, or space).
